Andrew Sullivan is a gay, conservative journalist. He's quite interesting to read. The more I read, the more I like. And, I don't think he is all that conservative.
In this week's New Republic, he wrote this article about how gay culture is becoming normal. It is interesting to read his observations. He is "an older" gay who was there on the battlefront when the gay rights movement just began.
I have heard the stories of my boys growing up gay and hating themselves and what a struggle it was for them to finally accept who they truly were. But now, being gay is a part of everyday life. More kids are coming out earlier and it is ok.
Like Sullivan pointed out, because the "gay culture" is so accepted today, a lot of us (well, ok, me) do not blink twice when we see two men holding hands or kissing (now, women, that's another matter (jk)).
This is a sign. A very good sign, indeed.
