"You Love Jesse"

Preface: Last night as I was driving to my office, the kid said, "Mom, can Scott come over?"
"No," I replied. "He has class."
"What about Jesse?"
"I don't know. He's leaving soon and he's not talking to me," I said.
"Well, can I call and ask him?"
So she did and we went over to his house. End of preface.

As she waited for me at my office, she wrote this note: "Mom, why are you mad at Jesse? Did he yele (yell) at you or did you yele (yell) at him? I bet you like him now, I think. I bet you are his best friend now. You love Jesse."

My Jesse is leaving on Saturday to study abroad for 10 weeks. I will miss him very much. I am used to talking to him everyday and it will be hard not to do that for a while.

I am feeling nostalgic because I am at this point in my life where my friends and I are all going our different ways. I want so much to hold on to the past and have us always be friends in the same city. But, I can't.

First Anne left. Then Brady. Jesse's leaving temporarily but will be off within the next year to write a new chapter in his life. Scott will be doing the same soon as well.

I do love Jesse. I love Scott. And Brian. And even Adam and Brady, sometimes. I love all my boys--they mean so very much to me.
