Why marriage matters.

In case you haven't heard about the NY Times Opinion Column today, here is the link.

It's the best argument for gay marriage there is. And really, how can you argue with it? If we go back to letting religious institutions decide who should and shouldn't get married, then no one can argue that gay marriage is the downfall of society anymore, right?

PS. I love that the author is a professor at Evergreen State College too! (Which, may mean nothing to a lot of people, but to me, it's just ironically hilarious.)
